I have been waiting for the magazine to get to arrive. It will be come real to me once I hold it in my hands. The magazine was nice enough to send me a PDF so I decided to post it here. The bio is in Portuguese so I have it translated into English.
Jeanine Marie first used self-portraits with a point-and-shoot camera as a way to heal and sooth old wounds. "I started taking self-portraits as a way to see myself as I really am," she said. "It was not the way other people have told me that they saw me." When she began feeling brave enough, she shared them with friends and family. She found support and encouragement and began posting them online where she received a positive reaction.
Jeanine admits to being a bit shy when it comes to her self-portraits. For example, one may only see her long flowing red hair and a peak of an eye.She found her best lighting and poses through trial and error. She likes to get experimental with her editing by using textures, double exposures and tint.
Currently, Jeanine lives in New England, fulfilling a life long dream to be surround by her first love, nature.
