Life Make Over–From Head To Toe

Some of you have been asking me what is up with me lately.  Why I have been gone from Flickr ect….

Let me tell you its because I have been busy changing my life.  That’s right.  Starting with the inside of my head going outward.

I got tired of certain things in my life and wanted change.  If you want something to happen, you have to go out and make it happen.

Sure you could want to win the lottery and buy tickets every week and maybe win $5 bucks. That is not what I am talking about.

Having a goal in mind and taking the steps to get there.  Money may solves a lot of problems but the real work takes place in your head.  The decision to really start making things happen is the first step.

I tell some of my unemployed friends that even though its bleak out there, do something everyday that keeps you in touch with your with your goals.

For example:

  • update your skills
  • investigate other ways of making income
  • volunteer
  • network (you never know who you could meet at the gym or bike path

What am I doing?  I am acting on my decisions to change my life.

  • The first step was going the therapy to deal with unresolved issues from my past and present.
  • Then I wanted to get back into shape, so I joined a gym and started eating a healthy diet.
  • I was tired of my looks so I changed my hair style.
  • I was tired of looking tired so I am working on my complexion.
  • I am tired of seeing all the “stuff” I have collected that needs to be thrown out. That is a work in progress.
  • I was tired of my surrounds so I am giving my bedroom a makeover.
  • I was tired of old debt haunting me so I am paying off.
  • I was tired of having no savings so I started an account.
  • I wanted to get back into the vintage clothing/accessory business so I am opening a store.

My list could go on and on but you get the picture.

My photography and blogging has taken a back seat to all of the changes I am making but I want to get right back into it starting now.

Happiness, Now Theres A Concept

I am happy. Still a bit nervous but happy. The past eight months I have worked hard to make positive changes in my life and now it is starting to pay off.

This morning I was trying on clothes that were too tight to wear but after a month at the gym I am proud to say they fit! Its nice to see definition come back to my arms and legs.

My monthly crimson tide did not come with the PMS I am usually fighting. I didn't snap at anyone or cry my eyes out.  I feel this that working out is definitely helping with this.

I feel calm and balanced. Not yet 100% but getting there.

My magazine finally arrived! It finally feels real to me now that I can hold it and show it off. I have to thank Marcelo from Digital Photographer EU for giving me the opportunity to be featured in the magazine. It was a surprise that came out of no where. Pure vanity. I always hoped my nature pictures would be picked to be published so when I asked to submit my own self-portraits, I was shocked!

In the next two weeks I should be getting my camera. I am so excited! I miss taking pictures.

My photography/websites are going to go through some big changes. I have a lot to do to reach the goals I have set forth. Working hard for something, is really satisfying and feels so good.

Now For Something You Will Really Like

I started noticing something as I went over my blog.  I seem to write only when I am in bad/sad mood.  That is not what I wanted this blog to be about so I am going to make some positive changes starting now.

I tend to be superstitious when it comes to announcing upcoming changes in my life or talking about relationships.  It seems to go south when I do.  However are some positive changes coming to my life
and I will be very willing to share with you once it is FACT.

One of the things I need to do is take on my fears.  We do have some control over our lives.  Its up to us to make things happen and accept sometimes we have NO CONTROL over whatever shit storm comes our way.

Last year, I re-learned how to drive.  That is super!  But now I have let fear from keeping me from leaving my comfort zone.  So I am going to set some tiny goals and eventually will be able to go anywhere I please.

I also need to work on accepting good things that happen to me.  Sometimes I feel like such a fraud.  Like I am undeserving of good things.  That is something I am working on when I am at my weekly "Big Couch" sessions.

Finding focus is something I need to get on the ball with.  I have so many things I want to do and yet just sit around and stress over it.  I am thinking I am going to have to going back to making lists.  Lists keep me organized

I am so pleased that Spring is finally here.  Getting back outdoors and taking pictures is very therapeutic for me.

Took this shot yesterday.

I will figure things out in time.

Happy New Year

I do not make the usual New Year's Resolutions.  What I do is make changes in my life.  Last year was about healing my soul.  This year about about getting strong, physically and emotionally.

I faced one of my biggest fear last year.  That was re-learning how to drive.  This is something I need continue doing, build up my confidence.

I got rid of toxic people in my life.  This was very painful but necessary.  Now I want to fill my life with positive people who support me.

My health has been poor for a long time,  This is something I want to get back.

My photography is taking off and I plan on making big strides this year.

So that is all I got for now!

Have anything you would like to share?

A New Direction

I am exciting about the changes coming to my life.

This year I faced my fears and took on some challenges.

Next year I am moving to another level with my photography. I do not want to talk too much about it now.

Just wait and see!
