Happiness, Now Theres A Concept

I am happy. Still a bit nervous but happy. The past eight months I have worked hard to make positive changes in my life and now it is starting to pay off.

This morning I was trying on clothes that were too tight to wear but after a month at the gym I am proud to say they fit! Its nice to see definition come back to my arms and legs.

My monthly crimson tide did not come with the PMS I am usually fighting. I didn't snap at anyone or cry my eyes out.  I feel this that working out is definitely helping with this.

I feel calm and balanced. Not yet 100% but getting there.

My magazine finally arrived! It finally feels real to me now that I can hold it and show it off. I have to thank Marcelo from Digital Photographer EU for giving me the opportunity to be featured in the magazine. It was a surprise that came out of no where. Pure vanity. I always hoped my nature pictures would be picked to be published so when I asked to submit my own self-portraits, I was shocked!

In the next two weeks I should be getting my camera. I am so excited! I miss taking pictures.

My photography/websites are going to go through some big changes. I have a lot to do to reach the goals I have set forth. Working hard for something, is really satisfying and feels so good.

Spring Cleaning, More Than Just Getting Rid Of Dirt

Its that time of year again.  Spring Cleaning.  I have been inspired by others around me.  This year its really a cleansing for me.  I plan on getting rid old tired items such as clothes and shoes and replace with new.  I might even make my bedroom look like a room instead of its current look: hotel room.

I want to incorporate more plants and flowers to my surroundings. Break out my scented candles.  Find a new spring summer fragrance.

I need to organize my portion of the garage.  Get rid of boxes.  Buy some filing cabinets.  Replace my tires on my car and maybe put in a new stereo.

So many things to do and will not get done till I am off of here.

I am curious,  Do you have any spring cleaning rituals?

Now For Something You Will Really Like

I started noticing something as I went over my blog.  I seem to write only when I am in bad/sad mood.  That is not what I wanted this blog to be about so I am going to make some positive changes starting now.

I tend to be superstitious when it comes to announcing upcoming changes in my life or talking about relationships.  It seems to go south when I do.  However are some positive changes coming to my life
and I will be very willing to share with you once it is FACT.

One of the things I need to do is take on my fears.  We do have some control over our lives.  Its up to us to make things happen and accept sometimes we have NO CONTROL over whatever shit storm comes our way.

Last year, I re-learned how to drive.  That is super!  But now I have let fear from keeping me from leaving my comfort zone.  So I am going to set some tiny goals and eventually will be able to go anywhere I please.

I also need to work on accepting good things that happen to me.  Sometimes I feel like such a fraud.  Like I am undeserving of good things.  That is something I am working on when I am at my weekly "Big Couch" sessions.

Finding focus is something I need to get on the ball with.  I have so many things I want to do and yet just sit around and stress over it.  I am thinking I am going to have to going back to making lists.  Lists keep me organized

I am so pleased that Spring is finally here.  Getting back outdoors and taking pictures is very therapeutic for me.

Took this shot yesterday.

I will figure things out in time.

Bunny Boiler ........

On March 19, 1947, actress Glenn Close was born.

One of her most memorable roles was in
Fatal Attraction, in which she played a *slightly* obsessive lover of Michael Douglas. He got more than he bargained for with this one night stand!

The term "
bunny boiler" came from this film. It refers to a former lover, usually a woman, who stalks the man who spurned her.

Be careful out there!

Fatal Attraction was one of my favorite Adrian Lyne pictures of all time.  I remember seeing the film with my mother, My aunt and my BFF.  There were woman telling their guys, "see what can happen".  The theater was in complete silence at the end of the movie.

Thanks you Hilary for letting me post this on my blog.

Daily Confession 2/21/2010 - Fornicating Edition

Last night "Old Spice" came over.  I requested chocolate and Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper. He took note and showed up the soda and brownie mix.  I thought he wanted me to whip up a batch but instead he was on it.  Adding his special twist to brownies they turned out chocolaty and moist.

Diet Cherry Dr.Pepper was jazzed up with a little "Maker's Mark".   I think I am a fan of bourbon now.  Since I am not an experienced drinker I was hit with some warm fuzzy good cheer.

Today is all good but let me tell you what happened yesterday........

I woke up around 8:30 AM.  I looked out the window and what did I see? Three chippies playing in the wood pile.  I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a beautiful and not too cold of a day.  I guess they can't wait till spring.

Later on, two squirrel were fornicating outside my window. I noticed the male ran off when he was done...... typical LOL!

So is it spring and no one told me?

Daily Confession 2/19/2010

This weekend I have the house to myself.  This means I get to totally trash it for a couple of days, then clean like a mad woman when my "Old Spice" comes to visit.

A question that no one knows the answer to, but I am going to ask it anyway.  Why does every guy I know (regardless of age) have a bad back ????

This week three guys I know went down with bad backs and one had a heart attack.  Gee, I hope I had nothing to do with that!

I thought I was in for my own back problems because I had to shovel heavy snow.  Just some mild pain and stiffness occurred.

So on my agenda for the rest of the day is cleaning, organizing and making lists.

Nothing to see here.

Published! For The First Time

Back in December, I was asked by Digital Photographer Magazine EU to submit some of my self-portraits for their January edition.  I was thrilled considering all of the talented ladies out there.

I have been waiting for the magazine to get to arrive. It will be come real to me once I hold it in my hands. The magazine was nice enough to send me a PDF so I decided to post it here. The bio is in Portuguese so I have it translated into English.

Jeanine Marie first used self-portraits with a point-and-shoot camera as a way to heal and sooth old wounds. "I started taking self-portraits as a way to see myself as I really am," she said. "It was not the way other people have told me that they saw me." When she began feeling brave enough, she shared them with friends and family. She found support and encouragement and began posting them online where she received a positive reaction.

Jeanine admits to being a bit shy when it comes to her self-portraits. For example, one may only see her long flowing red hair and a peak of an eye.She found her best lighting and poses through trial and error. She likes to get experimental with her editing by using textures, double exposures and tint.

Currently, Jeanine lives in New England, fulfilling a life long dream to be surround by her first love, nature.

Once I get the magazine, I will scan it and share it with you.

Daily Confession 2/16/2010

I did something today I rarely ever do during the week.  I stayed in bed and read a magazine.

My mother got me subscription to Vanity Fair" Magazine.  This is a magazine I have been reading for years.

In the past few years I gave up all of my subscriptions to magazines.  There is so much content on the web I didn't think I would miss it.

After reading the magazine this morning,  It made me realize I missed print.

We are getting some snow today.  I plan on staying in and work on my nest.   I really need to get rid of stuff.  Its amazing how much stuff we collect.  My house is not a candidate for a "hordes" program but I tend to keep things much longer than I should.

Right now, lunch is calling me.

The Daily Confession 02/111/2010

Champagne and coffee beans is all I have in my refrigerator.  I need to go shopping because I have having guests over the weekend.  No, not a Valentines.  " Just a friend".  Actually two man friends.   LOL!

I made a video today but for some reason I cannot upload it.  Not much to confess today.  I will have more to share later.

What Happened To Me Today?

Today we had a gigantic storm pass by.  In someways I welcomed it because it washed away the last bits of snow and ice however when you have to go out in it, a totally different matter.

I had an appointment that I did not want to cancel.  So I took off into the storm.

The streets were flooded and I worried if my little car to handle it.  I took my time going down the hill.  No pressures since there were not any cars on the road.

I did freak out a little when I could not see the lines on the street.  I remained calm and finally got down to the bottom of the hill.

On the way home, the rain lessened up and the ride home was not bad.  I put my car inside the garage and was grateful to make it home in one piece.

Later on I decided I was going to find a bag of clothes I am giving away to Good Will.   When I found the bag, there was an extra surprise, Acorns!  For the past few days I have been hearing something big running around in the crawl space.  It has to be the squirrels!  They are squatting in my house and keep their nuts in my garage!

As you know, I love the wild life but I am not going to share my home with them.....

My damn sinus headache has come back too.

Waiting Is The Hardest Part

I am waiting for a couple of things to happen before I can share it with you.  I am very excited and find it hard to keep my mouth shut.

This isn't a secret.  I am finally getting a new camera very soon.  Finally will be moving beyond a point and shoot.  I am looking so forward to learning how to use the new camera and growing as an artist.

Have you heard about The Impossible Project ? If you are sad Polaroid film is no longer being sold, you will want to check out The Impossible Project.  Re-inventing instant film for vintage Polaroid cameras ".

I am very excited about this because I was lousy at taking Polaroids but now I will get a second chance!

I hope they bring back the black and white film.

Winter's Chill

Posted by Picasa

I know I live in New England and I should not complain about the cold but..... I really want to start walking again.  By the end of week it is suppose to get up to the 40's.  I can do 40's.

Last winter I took a spill down the stairs and busted up my foot.  It took six weeks before I could wear a shoe so basically I was trapped with no one to help me out.  It was a very depressing time.

This year I am in a better place and getting active again will really help keep me there.

I no longer have a treadmill and can't afford to join the gym right now so I must learn to love my recumbent bike on the days I cannot go outside.

Boring.....

I can watch television or listen to tunes to make the time pass by quickly.  Maybe I can try chanting.  "I must I must I must reduced my butt".

The hardest part is getting started. If you need some help getting started, read this

Happy New Year

I do not make the usual New Year's Resolutions.  What I do is make changes in my life.  Last year was about healing my soul.  This year about about getting strong, physically and emotionally.

I faced one of my biggest fear last year.  That was re-learning how to drive.  This is something I need continue doing, build up my confidence.

I got rid of toxic people in my life.  This was very painful but necessary.  Now I want to fill my life with positive people who support me.

My health has been poor for a long time,  This is something I want to get back.

My photography is taking off and I plan on making big strides this year.

So that is all I got for now!

Have anything you would like to share?

Bokeh Party

I love the Bokeh effect when photographing the holiday lights. Its magic. I like to believe that we all leave a little light after we have "gone".
